Police Chief
On April 4, 2025, Brad Mock was sworn in as Police Chief, taking the helm of the Coral Springs Police Department. The department, which serves a community of around 135,000 residents, is comprised of 225 police officers and nearly 100 civilian staff members.
Mock’s primary focus is to maintain the highest standards of public safety service. Key initiatives under his leadership include expanding advanced technology tools like the Real Time Crime Center, maintaining a focus on school safety, recruiting and retaining the best officers and personnel, and further facilitating key partnerships at the local, state, and federal levels. His vision also includes maintaining a high level of transparency, improving response times, and partnering with our business community to improve safety and surveillance citywide.
Mock joined the Coral Springs Police Department in 1998 and has ascended through the ranks since. He began his career as a Patrol Officer before transferring to the Tactical and Gang Unit in 2004. In 2007, he was promoted to Sergeant, supervising Patrol, the Tactical and Gang Unit, and the K-9 Unit. As Lieutenant and later Captain, Mock oversaw crucial components of the department, including Special Operations, Criminal Investigations, and the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, where he served as Commander for a decade.
Mock’s dedication to modernizing law enforcement has been a cornerstone of his career. He has championed the implementation of advanced crime-fighting technologies such as enhanced body camera systems, and initiatives like Project Blue Shield which allows our Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) to monitor activities through a shared camera system. His collaborative approach has resulted in key partnerships with agencies like the FBI, Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE,) and the Broward Sheriff’s Office, emphasizing his belief in a unified approach to public safety.
A Coral Springs resident since 1984, Mock attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, excelling as a student athlete. He continued his athletic and academic career at Ashland University before earning a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University. A graduate of the FBI National Academy (Session 247), Mock holds memberships in several organizations, including the National Tactical Officers Association and the Florida Police Chiefs Association.
Mock lives in Coral Springs with his wife and three children who attend Coral Springs Schools. Outside of his role, Mock enjoys coaching youth sports and saltwater fishing.
