Michael McNally currently serves as the Director of the Office of Community Engagement and Emergency Preparedness (CEEP) in the City of Coral Springs. In this role, he oversees city special events, community outreach, volunteerism, citywide security, emergency management, The Center for the Arts, and the Coral Springs Museum of Art.

With a 31-year career in public safety, McNally has held numerous roles in Coral Springs and surrounding communities. His expertise in organizational structures, training, emergency preparedness, and safety underpins his leadership of the CEEP department's initiatives.

Most recently, McNally served as Fire Chief for the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department from 2020 to 2024. Before that, he was Deputy Fire Chief from 2014 to 2020, overseeing Professional Standards and Training, Community Risk Reduction, Administration, Safety and Health, and the Dive Rescue team. As Deputy Chief, he developed the Fire Department’s Hurricane Plan and contributed to the Incident Action Plan (IAP) for planned events in Coral Springs and Parkland. McNally has also served as Assistant Chief of Training, Battalion Chief, and Lieutenant.

McNally began his career in public service as a volunteer firefighter in 1993 and Fire Explorer in 1989. He worked for Coral Springs Dispatch Communications from 1993-1997 then briefly left Coral Springs to serve as a Law Enforcement Officer and Firefighter in Coconut Creek in 1997 and Parkland in 2001 before returning to the city.

Since 2006, McNally has been a member of FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Florida Task Force 2 (FLTF2), one of 28 Federal Urban Search and Rescue Teams ready to respond to natural and manmade disasters. He was deployed to Haiti in 2010 following the earthquake, to Mexico Beach in 2018 following Hurricane Michael, and to the Champlain Towers Collapse in Surfside in 2021. His time with FLTF2 has prepared him well for his role in Emergency Management. McNally also serves as the Liaison to the Hundred Club of Broward County, supporting families of first responders who lose their lives in the line of duty.

McNally holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership from St. Thomas University and a master’s degree in emergency services management from Columbia Southern University (2020).

He is married to Rebeca, a firefighter for the City of Coral Gables, and they have two children, Liam and Alana. McNally is tremendously grateful for his family's unwavering support throughout his career.
