Program/Activity: Mixed-Use Development/Redevelopment

Goal: Promote, Attract and Support Mixed Use Development

Objectives:

  • Expand the form-based code within the entire CRA
  • Support redevelopment projects
  • Enhance and increase the taxable value in the CRA

Performance Measures:

  • Approval of the form-based code
  • Continued progress for redevelopment projects (Cornerstone, City Village)
  • Increase in the taxable value of properties in the CRA

Program Activity: Infrastructure and Beautification Improvements in the Downtown

Goal: Increased Investment in Infrastructure

Objectives:

  • Improve Walkability
  • Improve Parking
  • Improve Landscaping
  • Support Green and Open Space

Performance Measures:

  • Fund projects that improve walkability and parking
  • Fund landscaping improvements
  • Advocate for more green and open space

Program/Activity: Create a Vibrant Downtown

Goal: Support Activities That Create a Sense of Place

Objectives:

  • Improve Downtown with seasonal decorations
  • Recommend enhancements to Downtown events
  • Improve event infrastructure

Performance Measures:

  • Provide funding for downtown seasonal decorations
  • Provide funding for special events
  • Provide funding for sound and lighting

Program/Activity: Business Retention and Attraction

Goal: Attract and Retain Businesses

Objectives:

  • Implement sidewalk café matching grant
  • Augment Commercial Enhancement Matching Grant program to include interior buildout
  • Create microgrant program
  • Meet with CRA businesses
  • Promote commercial space in the Downtown

Performance Measures:

  • Creation of additional grant programs
  • Funding for grant programs
  • Number of retention visits
  • Attendance at the ICSC show in Orlando
  • Number of new businesses
