Battalion Chief Patrick Staab

Patrick Staab currently serves as the Battalion Chief of EMS for the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department. Staab joined the department in April 2007 as a Firefighter Paramedic. He was promoted to Lieutenant in 2011 and to Captain in 2019. Throughout his career he has earned a Unit Citation, a Lifesaving Commendation, a Team Citation, and was selected as the 2016 Supervisor of the Year.

Patrick holds a bachelor's degree in Fire Administration from Columbia Southern University and is a licensed paramedic as well as a registered nurse. He has served as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and has been an instructor at the Coral Springs Regional Institute of Public Safety (CSRIPS). He has participated in several committees and focus groups including the Strategic Planning Committee and the EMS Research and Development Committee. He has most recently served as the lead for the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Group. As Battalion Chief of EMS, Patrick reports to John Barry, Division Chief of EMS and Training.
