Deputy Chief Jason Gonzalez

Division Chief Jason Gonzalez of Support Services

Jason Gonzalez currently serves as Deputy Chief for the Coral Springs-Parkland Fire Department. Gonzalez has more than 20 years of experience in various positions within the fire service, including serving previously as Division Chief, Support Services for the Department. Originally hired as a Firefighter/Paramedic in October 2002, Gonzalez has served in many roles for the department since then. Prior to his current role, he has worked for the agency as a Firefighter, Lead Medic, Lieutenant, Captain, Step-up Battalion Chief, Training Battalion Chief, and District Chief for C-Shift. Jason has also served as a member of the Dive Rescue team and the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT).

Throughout his career Jason has instructed EMT, Paramedic, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), and was a lead designer and test administrator for live action promotional exams. Gonzalez served as a Field Training Officer (FTO) for the nine years and believes that it is his duty to help people succeed in the industry he loves.

Gonzalez is a South Florida native who is a married father of two. He says his greatest accomplishment is the family he has built with his wife, Tessa, and his two children, Gavin and Paityn.
