Classes

We offer a variety of classes throughout the year. All participants must fill out a release and waiver (adults/minors) before attending their first class.

Tiny Tots (4-6)

Ages 4-6 years old
This class is an introduction to the sport of tennis. The focus is on hand-eye coordination, racquet skills, basic movement, strokes, scoring and most importantly FUN! Quickstart Format will be used.

Tennis Junior Beginner

Age 7-10 years & 11-14 years
This class is designed to teach the proper techniques for forehand, backhand, serves and volleys. Our students will also learn the rules and etiquette of the game, scoring and court fundamentals. Quickstart Format is used.

Tennis Junior Beginner 2

Must complete an evaluation from the coach before moving up to this level.

This class is for students who have completed the beginner class and demonstrates ability to hit forehand and/or backhand consistently. Students must also know all the lines, parts of the court and scoring. These classes are held at Cypress Park Tennis Center.

Tennis Junior Advanced Beginners

This class is for students who have mastered the basic techniques and are beginning to judge the ball as well as sustain a rally from the baseline. Consistent use of the serve is emphasized.

Tennis Junior Advanced Beginners 2

This class is for students who have begun to demonstrate the ability to hit with direction and have begun utilizing the continental grip on serves and volleys.

Tennis Junior Intermediate

This is a 2-hour class. Students should be able to play full court tennis, serving consistently and rally with control of the direction of their shots.

Tennis JTA

The JTA (Junior Tennis Academy) is for the more serious student as well as the more advanced. There are 2 levels, JTA level 1 Elite which is more advanced than JTA level 2 Advanced. Classes are 2-hours long and include skills, drills, and match play. Students must be able to serve and rally consistently, keep score and understand the basic doubles positions to enter this class. The JTA is offered one or two days per week from 5pm to 7pm at the Coral Springs Tennis Center on Sportsplex Drive.

The adult beginner class is designed for brand new players and those who have not played in a while. Instructions include proper grips and footwork for forehand, backhand, serves and volleys.
All group classes are once a week for four weeks per session with new sessions starting every five weeks.

Tennis Adult Advance

The advanced beginner class is for those who have completed the beginner class, as well as for players who have not played for a while and want to get back into tennis. The emphasis is less about technique and more about consistency and control.
All group classes are once a week for four weeks per session with new sessions starting every five weeks.

Tennis Adult Intermediate

The intermediate class is geared to the stronger player who has progressed beyond the advanced beginner class. Emphasis is placed on improved footwork, ball control, increased power, and spin. Players in this class should be ready for potential league play.

Tennis Coach Dan Bobrow is offering free tennis lessons for cancer patients ages 5 to 16 years old.

Every Sunday at Cypress Tennis from 2 to 5 p.m.

  • Must be a Coral Springs resident
  • Tennis rackets available if needed
