Bulk Trash

The following applies to single family homes only. If you live in a multi-family residence, please refer to your HOA for schedule and restrictions.

Guidelines

Step 1.View Schedule

  • Collected once per week.
  • May be placed within five feet (5’) of the street no earlier than 7 p.m. the day prior, but no later than 7 a.m.

Step 2.Guidelines

  • Bulk should not exceed 6 cubic yards, which is approximately equivalent to the size of 6 kitchen stoves or 3 refrigerators.
  • If residents exceed the 6 cubic yards, the pile will not be hauled away, and Coastal will notify the resident by tagging the pile of debris with haul away instructions.
  • Do not place bulk under trees or power lines where mechanical truck removal would be restricted.
  • Materials must be generated by the resident at the residential unit where the bulk is collected.
  • Only 2 cubic yards of the 6 may be construction debris.
  • It is important to notify landscapers, tree trimmers, contractors, etc. that they need to haul away their own debris following a job completed at your home if it exceeds the size limits.
  • Do not place extra garbage bags with bulk; it will not be picked up.
  • Small lawn clipping must be bagged in a clear bag

Step 3.What is accepted?

  • Household goods such as couches, chairs, mattresses, tables, appliances (white goods), carpet and padding, etc.
  • For safety reasons, residents are required to box with tape or wrap with an old blankets, any mirrors, glass panels or windowpanes before
    disposing of them curbside.
  • Doors and Freon must be removed from refrigerators and freezers, and notice of removal of the Freon must be visible. 
  • Yard waste includes unbundled tree trimmings, palm fronds, tree branches and brush. Tree trimmings should not exceed 5 feet.
  • Hazardous waste will not be accepted. Please dispose of hazardous material at the Waste Transfer Station.
